\"\"<\/a>There’s a lot of love in this poem but some people can’t see it. Or rather, feel it.<\/p>\n

Finally getting back to writing-and this blog-after being sidetracked for months. And today all I could manage was a bit of editing. Feeling uninspired and it’s sad when poems from six months ago are no longer relevant. Oh well, I will persist. I always find salvation in action.<\/p>\n

As a side note, T Rex and David Bowie saved my sanity in high school.<\/p>\n

IT TAKES TWO<\/strong><\/p>\n

We engage in a dance
\ncalled Together Then Apart.<\/p>\n

Intervals between vary according
\nto the latest news or mutations.<\/p>\n

With enough lovers to fill a ballroom
\nwe\u2019ve moved past the Tango,<\/p>\n

past clinging, demands, urgency,
\nand sexual intrigue be damned.<\/p>\n

My time alone runs concurrently
\nwith the time I have left,<\/p>\n

prizes both,
\nhowever long they may last.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m ready at last
\nto honour my body,<\/p>\n

its ability to function,
\nto serve, to move.<\/p>\n

I marvel at the ease
\nwith which he inhabits his,<\/p>\n

watch it long and lithe
\nbreak free of the stove<\/p>\n

to pretend with the Pretenders,
\nneon fuchsia boa flowing<\/p>\n

over sinewy chest,
\npink feather clamped<\/p>\n

between teeth ala Flamenco,
\nmuscle-grooved arms,<\/p>\n

a flurry of fists, raven hair,
