PRINTEMPS
\nYet another ode<\/em><\/p>\n

Immortal springtime is a tease
\nthough not hedonistic.<\/p>\n

The pleasure spring brings
\nis a fluke, for spring<\/p>\n

is a cog in the cycle,
\nwe, mere fallout.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s not speak of winter\u2019s bluster
\nor those who are dead to us.<\/p>\n

Today spring is large
\nand in charge of the decks,<\/p>\n

arriving at last in a verdurous tide
\nto reanimate petrified desire,<\/p>\n

to banish the soggy interminable
\nfrom this paradise of cedar<\/p>\n

sweetened ocean side rainforest,
\nto spur us on to breed, breed, breed!<\/p>\n

Gambol trails awash
\nwith plashing streams, silver vernal pools.<\/p>\n

To restore wanderlust.
\nTo hear the splendid racket,<\/p>\n

the shrill trill of red birds deep in a tangle
\nof cherry tree limbs & pink blossoms.<\/p>\n

Such a showy in-your-face transition
\nafter a long dawdle,<\/p>\n

the most raucous season,
\nthe glorious season.<\/p>\n
