Neither winter nor crumbling highways
\nwill impede truculent truckers
\ntransporting empty containers
\nfuelled by misguided millions.<\/p>\n

American aping,
\nperipheral neo-Vikings
\noff to vanquish snowflakes,
\nsmash Ottawa walls
\nbeneath a shapeshifting banner:
\nFREEDOM<\/p>\n

Machinery as weaponry mission.
\nBlind to delusion,
\nroadside placarded converts
\neagerly buy their cheap wares.<\/p>\n

Infodemic intrudes yet again
\nvia global eternal news,
\nwarring and impotent memes.
\nBy now I have moved past fear.<\/p>\n

I am confused though.
\nWhen did the chasm\u2019s maw
\nyawn so widely
\nit swallowed all reason?
\nHumanity.<\/p>\n

Objects of hate hated in clusters,
\naccording to seasons of scorn
\nor whichever clever derision
\nbecomes most click worthy.<\/p>\n

But first, tea.
\nI put on the kettle,
\nsock-footed and well-flannelled,
\ncrawl into bed,
\ngrilled cheese sandwich in hand,
\nooze soon meeting the comforter.
\nChamomile lulls angst. Outrage.
\nA little.<\/p>\n

I poke my head outside
\nto meet the weather,
\nto breathe, night sky a device
\nreplete with luminous constellations,
\nlunar phase applications and bats
