\"\"<\/a>Dramatic spike in Covid 19 cases, the highest they\u2019ve been. The dreaded third wave<\/em> has hit and hit hard. BC Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced restrictions for the next three weeks. Bar and restaurant owners are freaking out. No indoor dining. They\u2019re struggling and so many businesses have succumbed. We\u2019re all so weary. What to do except wait it out, cope and hope for the best, and for me, write. Some of my recent output concerns the pandemic but not all because though it feels interminable, this moment<\/em> will pass. Knowing so might be a rare perk of getting older. A couple of years is nothing in the big scheme of things. So hold fast my pretties, the end of this particular dread is near.<\/p>\n

2020 WAYS OF COPING<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wiggy weird times
\nclamorous as a bouquet of wildflowers.
\nReports have become necessarily wacky,
\ndemocracy a debacle.<\/p>\n

Pimp among men
\nplunked into this particular space and time
\nto the amusement of some,
\nthe dismay of many.<\/p>\n

Some may squeeze white icing
\nonto chocolate cookies,
\nbake,
\nbecause murder is wrong.<\/p>\n

Some may hump, some may waltz
\nto the harpist on the front lawn,
\ndance,
\nbecause murder is wrong.<\/p>\n

An armor-nosed afflicted
\nsquelches his noisy couch
\nto sit and devour a lonely hotdog
\nas nearby lung assistant dutifully<\/p>\n

spins a homespun door prize,
\na personalized No Smoking<\/em> sign.
\nHe scans channels for virus news.
\nGenetic detective work<\/p>\n

claims it\u2019s jumped
\nfrom bat to human
\nto mink to human,
\nmutating along the way.<\/p>\n

He bolts for a bladder relief visit,
\nreturns to scribble,
\nwrite,
