I’ve been out of the videopoetry, poetry film loop since stepping down as Artistic Director of the Visible Verse Festival in 2015 but will be serving on the international jury of the CYCLOP coming up in November. Here’s the lowdown:<\/p>\n

Submissions are now open for the\u00a06th CYCLOP International Poetry Film Contest. The deadline for submissions is\u00a0September 30, and the screening will be during the\u00a06th CYCLOP Poetry Film Festival, which will be held on\u00a0November 25-26, 2017 in Kyiv.<\/p>\n

6th CYCLOP International Poetry Film Contest<\/p>\n

1 August \u2014 30 September 2017<\/p>\n

Rules and regulations:<\/p>\n

Films of up to\u00a010 minutes\u00a0duration that are no more than\u00a0two years old\u00a0(January 2015) may be entered.<\/p>\n

There are no limitation about subject and language restrictions. All films that are not in English\u00a0must have English subtitles. Each application must also contain the\u00a0text of the verse\u00a0in English.<\/p>\n

Video can be performed in any techniques using any necessary equipment (video, animation, flash etc).<\/p>\n

Each video should be placed on the\u00a0Youtube channel in free access.<\/p>\n

By sending your film, you confirm that the film may be shown at the CYCLOP Poetry Film Festival. The artist\u00a0must have all property and screening rights.<\/p>\n

Each artist\u00a0can\u2019t send more than two videos.<\/p>\n

All videos must be sent with the following characteristics:
\nFile format: .MOV or .AVI.
\nStandard: PAL. Codec: H264.
\nResolution: HD \u2014 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 (16:9) \/ SD \u2014 640 x 480 (4:3) or 640 x 360 (16:9)<\/p>\n

Terms of the contest:
\nAcceptance of applications\u00a0\u2014 from August 1 to September 30
\nScoring\u00a0\u2014 from October 2 to October 15 (remotely)
\nLonglist announcement\u00a0\u2014 November 1
\nScreening the best videos\u00a0\u2014 November 25\/26 (during the festival)
\nAnnouncement of the winners\u00a0\u2014 November 26<\/p>\n
