Love collaborating.\u00a0 I’m working on spoken word songs with producer\/guitarist Mark Deutrom,<\/a> formerly of the Melvins and currently of Bell Ringer and Brian Topp<\/a>, a Vancouver composer whom I’ve been paired with to create a piece for the Art Song Festival in June.\u00a0 This is a link to an Atticus Review <\/a>story on my poem Where Sins Are More Sinful<\/em><\/a>, which my friend painter Victor Bonderoff<\/a> illustrated and Mark Neys AKA Swoon Bildos<\/a> of Belgium adapted to video.<\/p>\n

WHERE SINS ARE MORE SINFUL<\/strong><\/p>\n

A river flows down to the Atlantic-<\/p>\n

the\u00a0Matap\u00e9dia-<\/p>\n

Irish and cathedral<\/p>\n

on one side,<\/p>\n

Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois\u00a0and cathedral<\/p>\n

on the other.<\/p>\n

They all know sin.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jeanette walked to the pier<\/p>\n

every day to buy a lobster,<\/p>\n

hid the quarts of beer<\/p>\n

from brothers Ed and Reggie<\/p>\n

in the toilet tank.<\/p>\n

Hung a rosary there,<\/p>\n

to atone for the bastard<\/p>\n

she nourished<\/p>\n

with lobster and beer.<\/p>\n

Tiny filligree iron cross<\/p>\n

laced with lines of rust.<\/p>\n
