I am not so foolish as to waste my breath convincing anyone of its merit. I know why I write poetry. Poetry is where I take risks, indulge my quirks, alter my old order, find inspiration. It sustains me.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SALOON<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Home away from home<br \/>\nTo maul his favourite barfly,<br \/>\nThe one who\u2019s heard it all.<br \/>\nMeek dick taker. Instant co-spiralee.<\/p>\n<p>No-guff companion, quickly enamored<br \/>\nOf her salient recycled mate.<br \/>\nFaithful ego extension, she waits<br \/>\nPatiently, fourth in line.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the reckless man<br \/>\nThat underestimates her pale grip,<br \/>\nCourts the highly functioning<br \/>\nSimpering angel face, dressed up<\/p>\n<p>To impersonate a pure silk purse.<br \/>\nHe orders a beer. \u201cHave a cup of cyanide,\u201d<br \/>\nSays the proprietor, \u201cit goes down quicker,<br \/>\nDelivers a merciful fate.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not certain I&#8217;ll ever find enough time to pen another novel but I continue to carve hours out of each week to write verse, which to many is an utter waste of time.
