HANS<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Under the bridge a blanket rests,<\/p>\n

Knave rising, tapping to a bush beat.<\/p>\n

Static fussy, hearing reproach in birdsong,<\/p>\n

Flak in the bending willows<\/p>\n

\n

He may see through concrete<\/p>\n

But do not call him clairvoyant or infrared.<\/p>\n

Merely tenacious, tenacious is he,<\/p>\n

Tenacious as the wildlife<\/p>\n

\n

Lured<\/p>\n

From the ribbon of road<\/p>\n

To flail<\/p>\n

Against the vortex of personality.<\/p>\n

\n

All furious downhill from here.<\/p>\n

Bloodstream<\/p>\n

Engulfing triumph<\/p>\n

One drop at a time.<\/p>\n

\n

I paid the toll.<\/p>\n

Where is my protection? Favor.<\/p>\n

Boat. Deliverance. Red tulip.<\/p>\n

Simmer you, still. Still no loosening<\/p>\n

\n

Of your grip around our lovely, long Jane Doe necks.<\/p>\n

Confinement has not freed<\/p>\n

Nor contemplation illumined.<\/p>\n

Are we not macerated into mash,<\/p>\n

\n

Pulp enough for paper? Fiction. Fusion<\/p>\n

Of forms so 21st century, so now,<\/p>\n

So damned imperative.<\/p>\n

We aren\u2019t about to quit abeyance, balking,<\/p>\n

\n

Irrupting or being pricks. Hiding, stalking, preying<\/p>\n

upon squirts. Being obsolete. Polysyllable.<\/p>\n

Anemic. Let it leak. Glow. Gush around your finger<\/p>\n

in the hole. All the time in the world.<\/p>\n
