On this Valentines Day eve when I’m feeling more than a little disillusioned with romantic love, I will share a poem about a mother’s love for her son. Truly eternal.<\/p>\n

FAMILIAL FANTASIAS<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the languid night\u2019s tender glow,
\nthrough labyrinthian processions
\nupon an infinite summer catwalk,
\nwe glide beneath a banana tree canopy,
\nsouth of the equator where snowbirds go.<\/p>\n

Here we are soul sisters once more,
\nflaunting our glittering gowns,
\ntittering, kisses flying
\nthough jasmine-perfumed air,
\nenveloped in a gauze of unbridled bliss
\nuntil, within this splendor
\nno one knows where my son is.<\/p>\n

Panic ignites a creeping ivy of dread,
\nblossoming into a frantic search
\nthe way I searched the one time I lost him
\nin waking life, when he vanished
\ninto the maw of a vast supermarket,
\nleaving me to frantically call out
\nfor an eternity\/five harrowing minutes,<\/p>\n

his absence now a shadow that grows
\nwith the passing years, perhaps a catalyst
\nfor the portraits of Junior that surround,
\neach frame a shrine to the fleeting nature
\nof moments.<\/p>\n

In his realm my son reigns supreme,
\nan architect of worlds,
\nweaving narratives,
